Welcome aboard the Mauretania. By tradition, guests board using the accomodation ladder over the starboard quarter. On the main deck, they are greeted with the charm of meticulous teak decks and polished double handrails. The spacious Aft Deck, at the rear of the vessel, is perfect for sunset cocktails with its ample and comfortable seating and all-around views. The Main Salon, accessible from main deck companionways, is an airy, luxurious living and dining area, complete with original mahogany paneling, silver-plated sconces, and built-in secretary. The living area features contemporary furnishings that blend beautifully with the original dining table, chairs, and carved mahogany radiator ‘fireplace’. A conveniently located powder room is located just forward. Adjoining the Main Salon is the impeccably-stocked Butler’s Pantry, perfect for entertaining. An interesting original feature that still remains here is the Butler's call box. Moving back onto the main deck towards the front of the yacht, guests will pass the Pilot House on their way to the open air of the Foredeck. Historical features of note are the the signal lights that are used to indicate whether the owner is onboard to receive visitors, or whether he is onboard but must not be disturbed (traditionally during mealtimes). The vessel's anchors and ground tackle are located on deck so as not to distract from the clean lines of the hull. The anchors are at-the-ready for deployment using a fish davit. On the port side, guests may ascend the staircase to the top deck observation area for the unobstructed 360 degree view offered by this comfortable, secluded seating area. From the Main Salon, descending the grand staircase, with its carved mahogany handrails, is the stateroom level. Three staterooms are found below, all with private bathrooms. The stateroom level is rich with historic details, including sliding wooden privacy shutters on all windows and the original wall safe in the Master Stateroom. Off the Butler’s Pantry, another staircase leads down to the Crew Quarters and Galley. The Galley features state-of-the-art appliances and amenities that have been retrofitted into the otherwise historically accurate layout. Cabinets, tile, countertops and range hood are original to the yacht. Beyond the Galley lay the crew quarters, a dining area, a bunk area, and another bathroom.
